Strings and oboe from the LSO and RPO
The Caversham Ensemble, formed of some of London's finest string players from the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, come together to perform the wonderfully joyful and youthful octet by Mendelssohn, the richly romantic sextet from Capriccio by Richard Strauss and Mozart's Quintet in C minor, arranged for oboe and strings. Directed by co-leader of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Tamas Andras, the group is joined by Timothy Watts (RPO) for the Mozart quintet.
Come along to enjoy these rarely programmed pieces – they are absolutely beautiful.
